That way they can give you less money for taking the “scrap” off your hands. I wonder how many people give valuable jewelry to these scrap collectors. I bet experts take a look before having it melted down.

I would just save it. If what they’re saying is true, gold will be worth much more in a few years. With lower supplies for those companies, prices will rise accordingly, so even MORE worth per ounce.

No. I recognize that it would make people more willing to sell it. Imagine if they said “Sell us your precious gold.”
People would not go for that. Hence they call it scrap.
And you get money, whether it’s precious or scrap.

Because they are asking if you have any scrap gold. They aren’t saying “it’s all trash give it to us now”, get real they just mean “hey if you have any gold you don’t want, send it to us”
Why are you getting so offended over gold? If you like your gold so much then keep it. But don’t get all offended and act like they are offending all your gold items by calling them “scrap”
Do you get this upset with laundry commercials when they call stains, dirty grimey stains?
